Martyn Smith

Martyn Smith serves as the Managing Director for Family Planning 2020 (FP2020), a global partnership that supports the rights of women and girls to decide—freely and for themselves—whether, when, and how many children they want to have. He has extensive leadership experience in the family planning and reproductive health sectors in both Africa and Asia across the last 10 years, with a further 10 years of international experience in both the private and NGO sectors across three continents. From 2008 to 2013, he led and transformed Marie Stopes International organizations in India and Sierra Leone before taking on a technical role as MSI's deputy regional director for Asia.  Before this, he worked on malaria and HIV social marketing programs with PSI in Namibia. A graduate of Cambridge University, Martyn started his professional career in private sector logistics in Europe and South Africa, with additional experience establishing educational programs in Africa and Europe.
