Ginette Hounkanrin
Ginette Hounkanrin is a Medical Doctor specialized in Population & Health. She has almost 15 years’ post-graduation experience cutting across clinical medicine and various public health programs in developing countries especially in the sub Saharan Africa with about 9 years in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights program management. She started her carrier as clinician in private clinics. After completing the West Africa Health Organization young professionals’ program, she moved to the international development world and has work experience with FHI 360, International Planned Parenthood Federation and Pathfinder International. She currently works as Senior Youth Technical Advisor for the Pathfinder International led Evidence to Action project which is a USAID funded global flagship project for strengthening quality family planning/reproductive health service delivery with the aim of reducing unmet need by scaling up evidence-based practices to ensure that women and girls receive—and use—quality services through all stages of the reproductive lifecycle. Her role is to oversee scaling up of AYSRH interventions in various countries in sub Saharan Africa. Before joining Pathfinder International, she worked at the IPPF Africa Regional Office based in Nairobi as Youth Advisor and then SRHR Advisor where she provided technical assistance and overall technical guidance for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation for integrated FP/RH programmes to the west and central Africa IPPF Members Associations. Dr Hounkanrin has particular interest on very young adolescents’ heath and rights.
