HIP Key Implementation Components

Key implementation components are agreed upon standards to implement a practice and ensure it is high impact. They are the key ingredients that make a HIP a HIP. The key implementation components were derived from the “how to” section of the HIP briefs and refined and validated with members of HIP Technical Expert Groups.

The general process to develop key implementation components is noted here. Key implementation components can be used to design and guide implementation, as well as to measure and assess implementation.

To date, key implementation components have been developed for the following HIPs: Immediate post-partum FP, community health workers, pharmacies and drug shops, and mobile outreach.
